The Great Pumpkin

D: When I am a gurl, C will be a gurl!
C: I kinda wish D was a girl, because then he'd behave better!

Coming off the ice after practice ~
J: We are so proud of you!
Me: I bet you are proud! I saw some awesome skating out there today!

J: Mom?  I just want to fart everywhere!
Me: .... thanks?

Me: You can bring your phone, but I expect you to socialize a little too.
C: Does that mean I can use Google Voice?

Me: What color are the bugs on your boots?
J: Azul and verde and EGGROLL! (amarillo)

C: J and I are training to be ninjas!  J, show Dad your new clap!
(J punches his own hand a couple of times)
J: That's why we are the protein!

D: I just want rocks for trick-or-treating!
Me: Okay, Charlie Brown!

D/J: I WANT THE TABLET!! I WANT THE TABLET!!
C: BOYS! I haven't even heard a hi from you two!
Dad: That deserves a high-five!
Me: You're hilarious bud; I love you.
C: Yeah, I'm like that.

Me: If you stay in bed tonight you can have cake for breakfast! Does that sound like a good deal?
D: Mmm...probably not.

Me: Good morning!
D: Mom? I'm grumpy!

Me: Why are you on the floor?
D: I just like to.

Me: JJ made me a zombie burrito yesterday. Mm-mm!
J: But I killed the zombies first!

(10/20) Work day for Dad and me, and school for the boys.  C had hockey this evening, and got hit hard from behind.  He's now in concussion protocol with the league.  Excuse me while I go swear some more.

(10/21) Work day from home for me, and Dad had the kiddos. C stayed home from school today, and Dad ran him in to the doctor.  Probable concussion. Now bracing for the fall-out.

(10/22) I got to go walking with Sarah before the craziness of today began.  I have missed our coffee walks!  When we got back, it was time for hockey for the twinadoes.  We all went, and Dad took C over to the library during the twins' ice time.  After hockey, we headed to Grandma & Granddad's for a nacho lunch and pumpkin carving!  It was great fun, and we celebrated the twins' birthday with them today.

(10/23) Today we had a lazy morning before heading out to my niece & nephew's party.  The boys all had a blast and didn't want to leave.  I'm glad we left when we did, because we managed to make it home in time to visit Oma and Opa, who were in town for a play.

(10/24) Work day for Dad & me, and school for the boys.  Today, the boys had to bring in something brown.  J chose his armor from his Halloween costume and a lion mask. He's totally ready to conquer Monday!

(10/25) Work day for us parental types and school for the boys.  Amanda took the twins to a new jump place in Marysville.  The boys are in love, and are already asking when they can go back.  I'm definitely going to have to take them soon! My office celebrated one of our team members being here for 22 years with margaritas, and then we continued the festivities over at Azteca for book club.  I got home late, but always enjoy a night with the ladies, and chatting about good books.

(10/26) Work day for Dad & the boys and I had school.  Dad took over for me at the end of preschool so I could go to C's conference.  It was about as I expected - he's doing fine academically, but struggling emotionally right now. I felt like I came away with a game plan, so thumbs up for that.

(10/27) Work day for Dad & me, and school for the boys. I had a really early morning, since J was yelling at D about giving him back his blanket at 4am. I covered him back up, but then couldn't get back to sleep. Blerg!  Amanda took the boys on a pumpkin hunt, and the boys found a bunch.  Sounds like they had a great time! C got to go play over at Jordan's house after school today, and then went to sushi with them.  I wonder if I should have warned them about how much he can pack away?  LOL, sorry!

(10/28) Work day from home for me, and Dad had the kiddos.  The twins ran errands with Dad in the morning, and C got home early today. I took the twins to Family Night at their preschool this evening. J was excited to wear his costume, but D wasn't so in to it.  He was happy to play in the mountain of glitter at Family Night though.  J particularly enjoyed playing outside  in the dark, practicing his ninja skills.

(10/29) Busy day for us!  Dad took C to the rink for his hockey pictures, and then they stayed to cheer his team on.  C is still having headaches, so he's off the ice until he's been medically cleared.  I took the twins to their practice, and alternated between hiding from D and taking pictures.  D would come over to the glass and bang on it with his stick every time he saw me, but would engage with the coaches when I stayed out of view.  From there, we hit the museum, and J spent 90 minutes with the new conveyor belt on the airplane, putting cargo in, and throwing it out of the plane.  I needed to stop at Michael's for some crafting supplies, so I took them to McD's for lunch and let them run wild at the play center.  After that, we got our stuff at Michael's, and went home to put together the hockey wreath.  I bought the littles some funky scissors, so they busied themselves making confetti EVERYwhere.  Dad cooked us a yummy dinner, and then we went to the Silvertips game where we had popcorn and Skittles (priorities for D).  J was pretty fidgety this evening, and the woman sitting in front of him turned around and yelled at him, and the folks behind us were incredibly obnoxious, so we headed out after two periods.  We drove around and listened to the game for a while, and then went home and put the kiddos to bed.

(10/30) Lazy day for the boys and me.  Dad had to work, and the twins slept late, and then came down to cuddle on the couch before getting up and going for the day. The boys cooked up "omelettes" (think breakfast burritos), and were pretty set on making cookies too, but we'd run out of eggs.  C picked swimming for an afternoon activity, so we went out to the Snohomish Aquatic Center for rec swim.  We stopped at the store for more eggs on the way home, and Dad and C whipped up some cookies after the little boys went to bed.

(10/31) Happy Halloween!  It's Monday around here, so that means work for Dad & me, and school for the kiddos.  C is joining a couple of his friends and has big plans to rake in the candy, and I'll take the twins around.  Hope it doesn't pour on us!

Badger, Badger, Badger!

C: You need to learn how to skate so when the ice age comes, you can skate on top of it!

Me: What do you want for lunch?
D: I want....something like a square.

D: My stomach place for ice cream is un-full.

C: I told Dad some things I wanted for Xmas.... like my own Xbox account and my own house.

J was watching an episode of American Ninja Warrior and the commentators were talking and one said, "Can she do it?" and he chanted "You can do it!" at the TV.

Me: Mama needs to work, so you can go play screen time with JJ.
D: Are you going to work upstairs?
Me: No, I'll work down here so I can be with you.
D: Are JJ and me staying here?
Me: No, I think you can go to preschool after lunch.
D: No, it will be too cloudy.

D: I have a great idea!
Me: What is your great idea?
D: Tomorrow we're gonna go to Lake Chelan!
Me: And what are we going to do there?
D: Just eat.  We can have the cereal that just has the marshmallows!
Me: We're going all the way to Chelan just for breakfast?
D: We can just play on the playground, and do golf!
Me: Sounds nice!

(10/7) I worked from home today, and Dad had the boys.  Nanan came over to watch the kiddos so we could go see Titus this evening.  The show was awesome, as usual! This is the second time we've seen him live, and he is one of our top faves!

(10/8) C had a great game today!  His team's goalie faced 5 penalty shots, and stopped all but one. 15-0 Badgers, and +0 rating for C.  The twins started hockey today too, and got to practice with some of the Tips players.  I took them to the Children's Museum after practice and found the rest of Everett. We picked up movies for tonight and had a cozy night in.

(10/9) C was supposed to have an early game today, but was feeling off this morning, so we decided to hang at home. We had a pretty lazy day, and were sad to miss a family dinner with my siblings.  Next time, Gadget!

(10/10) Work day for Dad and me, but C was feeling horrible this morning so I kept him home.  I worked from home today, and know how fortunate I am to have a job that allows for that!  We obviously skipped hockey tonight, and had a quiet night in.

(10/11) Happy birthday twinadoes!!  They are five today!  Dad went in to work, but C was still feeling crummy, so I worked from home today so he could stay home.  I whipped up a cake, and Dad made us a fancy dinner on the barbecue to celebrate. This week is birthday extravaganza all week.  Should be fun!

(10/12) Work day for Dad, and I had the boys.  C was feeling well enough to head back to school today. I hope the bug is through with us!   We celebrated J's special day in class with lemon muffins, strawberries, and grapes.  Nanan came to preschool today with us to check out how things are done.  She is going to be replacing Dad for his classroom work day on Thursdays. She took us out for ice cream after school, and we properly spoiled our dinner.

(10/13) Work day for me, and Dad had the boys.  Today was D's special day in class.  D picked out lemon cookies and strawberries for his snack today.

(10/14) I took the day off today to go on a field trip with the twins to Stocker Farms.  We met Nanan in Snohomish for breakfast.  Shortly after we parked, D had the most horrendous bloody nose, and I could not find one single restaurant or bathroom open to get him cleaned up.  We eventually found a place and had breakfast.  The boys were antsy when they finished, so I took them to Stocker's, and left Nanan at the restaurant.  The field trip ended up being across 9, so we sped over there, and managed to catch an abbreviated corn maze jaunt.  It was absolutely pouring - even when we got on the covered wagon, the rain came in sideways.  The twins rode the barrels, and C and I hung out with the goats in the covered area for a bit.  It was just so gross out, that we got our pumpkins, and headed home for a big pot of hot chocolate.  Nanan unfortunately (?) couldn't find us, so she just headed back home.  I'm sure she was bummed to miss that wet adventure!

(10/15) We celebrated the twinsies at Chuck E Cheese today.  A huge storm was predicted to hit today, so it ended up being just us, Sarah's boys, and Nanan.  But the boys had a blast!  They got unlimited game time, and we sugared them all up.  Dad ended up taking C to a make up hockey practice this evening, but then we had Sarah's oldest come spend the night.  The power went off for a few hours, so we played cards around the flashlight, and made sure to polish off the eggnog... you know, just in case!

(10/16) Dad worked today, and I was off with the boys.  We all piled in the truck and headed out to get the twins a new bunk bed that a friend was selling.  It POURED, of course. I tarped and tied everything down, but drove the longer/slower way home, just in case.  We met Dad at home and he helped unload, break down the old bunk bed set and the assemble the new one upstairs.  That was quite a workout!  We discovered we were missing a couple of dowels, so weren't able to assemble the top bunk today, but did most of it.

(10/17) Work day for Dad and me, and school for the boys.  C had hockey tonight, so I met the guys at the rink, and brought the twins home.  I rearranged some furniture upstairs after the boys went to bed, and it inspired C to clean his room when he got home.  Hey, whatever it takes!

(10/18) Work day for Dad and me, and the boys had school.  Amanda said she was going to take the twins to the pumpkin patch, but they both refused - guess they used up all their fun on our field trip.

(10/19) Work for Dad, day off for me, and my workday in the twin's preschool.  We were all cranky and exhausted today, so I declared early bedtimes for everyone!
