Birthdays, Bubbles, & Blooms

(7/1) I worked a half day from home and then met Nanan for an appointment. We went for lunch together afterward. Dad helped S move into her new apartment this afternoon. He had some difficulty with our SUV, which I had planned to use this week up at Nanan's. Fingers crossed it's nothing too severe and that it can be fixed soon.

(7/2) I worked from home today and got in one last walk before my walking buddy heads out on vacation and I start taking care of her parents' farm.

(7/3) I ran out and fed the animals in Snohomish. That view never gets old! D and I did the requisite Weds WinCo run and then I headed up to Nanan's to do some work. We took a break and ran into town for lunch. I worked a few more hours and then headed home for dinner and an evening trek back out to the farm.

(7/4) Happy Fourth! I worked up at Nanan's today for several more hours. We discovered a cute little cafe on the island that serves Skippers fish and chips. It's been forever! The fireworks gods smiled upon C and he found a pack of Roman candles while he was at work yesterday. This evening we sat out and enjoyed the neighborhood fireworks and waited for C to get home. Then all the men went for a drive and the stressy pups and I hung out at home. Once they got home they lit off the free fireworks.

(7/5) I worked up at Nanan's again today. We did a dump run, picked up a new fan for this heatwave, and broke for lunch where we ate outside. Dad watched W for S while she was working this afternoon. W had just gone down for a nap when I left Nanan's, but we got to hang out a bit before he got picked up this evening.

(7/6) W came to hang with us again today while S worked. We put on a movie while he played. When the movie ended he was rubbing his eyes so we put on Cars and sat him down on the couch and he pretty much slept through the whole thing. Then he was up and at it again. Hope he sleeps well tonight!

(7/7) I'm not sure how this happened, but suddenly my (not so) little guy will be 17 tomorrow! We had our grandson for the day and went out for an early dinner to celebrate C since he'll be working tomorrow. C went shopping this afternoon to augment his wardrobe and came back with some fun additions. Love seeing his personality come out in what he picks!

(7/8) Hot, hot, hot! I worked from home today and we kept the house sealed up and the a/c on. It got up to 93° here. BLEH! I'm sure C was much hotter out in the parking lot. Just one more really hot day this week and then I think we cool down.

(7/9) I worked from home and intended to meet Nanan for an appointment this morning, but unfortunately she got too turned around and we ended up rescheduling to next week. I made a double batch of crockpot enchiladas for dinner which the fam annihilated. It was too hot to cook otherwise!

(7/10) D and I did the Weds WinCo run this morning. On the top of everyone's list was watermelon! I accidentally grabbed one that wasn't seedless so Dad had to show the kids how to avoid the seeds. I went up to Nanan's again so a new water heater could be installed and was there almost all day. Yay for hot showers again!

(7/11) Sarah and I met this morning for a walk before I worked from home. My sister-in-law got me started watching another trashy show which my coworker also watches so we had lots to gab about today. I'm sure many brain cells have perished.

(7/12) I worked from home today. Dad had an interview this morning which he thinks went well. We should know about a second round sometime next week. Sarah and I went for coffee walk at lunchtime. It was a warm one out there! For something fun, Dad bought our oldest dog boi a new bubble machine! I had broken out the bubbles the other day when W was here and the joy on Cass' face. We just had to get another machine!

(7/13) It was so nice to sleep in this morning. I put on a book and worked out in the yard while Dad ran errands. C went up to Rob's to work on his truck and they got it running. He's pretty pleased with himself! This afternoon I watched a little news, saw what happened, and then turned it off preferring to doom scroll while watching TV.

(7/14) I laid in bed for far too long reading conspiracy theories this morning so when Sarah messaged if I wanted to go for a coffee walk I readily agreed!

(7/15) Sarah and I went for a walk this morning before I headed in to work from home. It was cooler today, which was lovely! Dad picked up a foster girl who immediately picked him as her person. She seems sweet so far.

(7/16) I worked in the building today and joined my work peeps at our summer event, which was a scavenger hunt through Pike Place Market and then we had eats at the Alibi Room. We tromped all over the market and saw stuff I hadn't even noticed before. So fun!

(7/17) I had the day off today. Our HOA is having some work done and I met up with the contractors this morning. I'm still not sure how I got suckered into this job? Dad had a pretty extensive second interview this afternoon so D & I did the WinCo run early and tacked on a side trip for sushi. Yum!

(7/18) Today was a work from home day for me. It was meatloaf night, which Dad fixed up early so C could join in. Dad had a third interview this afternoon. We're hoping to hear soon, but we learned tonight that Crowdstrike bricked a large part of the interwebs, so it might be a minute.

(7/19) I worked from home today. Poor D came in this afternoon with a gusher of a bloody nose. We had just been talking about how dry it had been and suggested that he use his nose stuff. Over an hour went by and we still couldn't get it stopped, even with all our tricks, so Dad took him in to Children's.  It finally stopped on its own (thankfully!) and we ended up with an expensive bottle of nose spray.

(7/20) Our lil foster girl Mocha moved on to another foster home today since we were just slated to have her for the week. She's a nice girl, and I hope she'll be adopted soon! Dad, C, and Rob went junkyarding and were out playing with car stuff all day. I did a bunch of yardwork at home and tried to get caught up on my trash TV.

(7/21) After the news came down about Biden pulling out of the race we were both angry and despondent. J burst into tears while making his lunch and I realized I better rein it in. So we showed him what we do and grabbed our ballots and filled them out. I know it was just for the primaries, but it made us feel better.

(7/22) I worked from home today until mid afternoon and then went up to meet Nanan for a medical appointment. We stopped for a bite to eat afterward. My mood steadily improved while watching the socials today and I'm all in with our nominee!

(7/23) I worked in the building today and then came home to hang with my peeps for a while before heading up to Nanan's for the night to help her with a sleep study.

(7/24) YAHOO!! Dad accepted a job! He'll be commuting to Seattle which will be an adjustment for all of us for sure. But huzzah for now! I had breakfast with Nanan this morning, dropped off her sleep study, and then the boys and I did a celebratory WinCo run.

(7/25) Today was a work from home day for me. I was still catching up on sleep and zonked out on my lunch break. I managed to make it through the rest of the day with a vat of iced coffee and sure was ready to shut 'er down for the day when 5pm finally rolled around.

(7/26) Sarah and I went for a walk before I came home to work. J had an orthodontist visit this afternoon so we escaped for a bit to take care of that. J has reached the elastics phase of braces. We'll see how this goes... I finnnally got my car back today. The transmission went kablooey, but thankfully it was still covered by the extended warranty.

(7/27) We all slept in this morning. I put the Olympics on and enjoyed watching the horses. It always makes me nostalgic. I eventually put on an audiobook and wandered outside to work on taming the raspberries.

(7/28) I slept in a little and then went down to have a coffee with the pups before the rest of the house got up. Dad and I went for lunch at Chops and ordered burritos so big we barely made it through half.

(7/29) We woke up to rain today, which sure was a nice change! I ambulated on the treadmill while listening to a book and then came in to start my workday from home. Today is our 23rd wedding anniversary. Hard to believe!

(7/30) I worked in the building today. My sweet coworker left me donuts for my birthday on Thursday. I'm sure the boys will be excited to share!

(7/31) I had the day off today and kicked it off with a walk with Sarah. I did some more exciting HOA stuff and then D, C, and I hit WinCo for our weekly run. I ran errands this afternoon and did some yardwork after it had cooled down a bit.
