(8/1) Happy birthday to me! Sarah and I kicked it off with a walk before I came home to work. Dad brought me poké for lunch from one of our favorite haunts. We were going to have a celebratory dinner for Dad's new job tonight but S and W came down with covid so we'll be postponing.
(8/2) Sarah and I went for a very pretty walk and then I came home to work for the day. TGIF! It's been a very long week, it feels like.
(8/3) Nanan and I went to lunch at the Pub 282 this afternoon. After we were done lunching, I took her home and mowed the lawn before heading back. I am pet-sitting for Sarah this weekend and took J with me this evening to swim. He loved it!
(8/4) We all headed over to the grands' place to celebrate Jake's and my birthdays. They treated us to a steak and crab dinner and a glorious afternoon to hang out together. It was so fun! I completely derped on taking many pictures but we did get some on the ferry ride.
(8/5) I worked from home today. I didn't do a whole lot else, but did remember to step outside and get some sunshine.
(8/6) I worked in the building today and got a call that Nanan was headed to the ER. Her butthead cat bit her the other day and the bite had gotten infected. She was admitted this evening and will be on IV antibiotics for the next few days. She finally got a room around 11pm and I went home for a bit around midnight.
(8/7) I came home and got some sleep and then headed back to the hospital for a few hours. I grabbed Nanan's keys so we could move her car and then inched my way home due to all the traffic from an earlier accident. I decided we'd do the Wednesday WinCo run while the traffic hopefully cleared out a little. C and I went up to move Nanan's car and feed the jerk cat and then I dropped C at work on the way home. I then went back to the hospital to sit with Nanan for a bit before coming home for the night. Dad started his new job today down in Seattle. It was a lot of reading and watching videos for him today.
(8/8) I took the day off work and went in to see Nanan this morning. Her MRI was clear, but she'll be in for another night. Sigh. I went home for a few hours, made a late lunch, and then cooked up and left dinner for the kiddos. I went back to the hospital for a few more hours until Dad said he was back from work.
(8/9) Oof. Today was a lot. Nanan received her last dose of antibiotics this morning and we were told that we were just waiting for the okay from surgery before they discharged her. They sent in an occupational therapist to meet with her this afternoon and now we have a whole team of people assigned to help with her care at home. Fabulous! It was a very long day but we were finally cut loose at 5pm. I dropped off dinner for the twins and then we joined everybody and their brother going north. I got her home and settled and then made my way home too.
(8/10) I caught up on some yardwork this morning and lounged around for a bit before getting dolled up to go to my brother's 40th birthday party! It was 80's themed and was amazing! I had the best time hanging out with his friends. Dad unfortunately had to work today so had to miss the party.
(8/11) We were all home this morning and got to sleep in. I made orange rolls for the troops and did some more yardwork. Dad went out and picked up a new foster girlie who will be with us for a bit. She seems like a sweetie! She definitely cannot control her licker and is all kisses.
(8/12) I worked from home today and Dad had the day off. Dad made up a feast for us for an early dinner so that C could partake before he headed off to work.
(8/13) Dad and I both worked in the building so the boys were left to their own devices today. Tuesday is our normal pizza night, so we had them make up dinner...of frozen pizzas to keep up tradition.
(8/14) I had the day off today and went up to take Nanan to a doctor's appointment. Her hand looks great now! We went out for lunch and did some grocery shopping so she should be set for a bit. Once I got home, I took the boys to WinCo and then enlisted J's help for Noodle's birthday pictures and cookie distribution. I can't believe he's seven now!
(8/15) I met Sarah for a walk and then came home to work for the day. Dad also had to work and we're figuring out how to do this again with both of us getting up at the same time.
(8/16) Dad and I both had to work today. I met Sarah for a walk before starting my day at home. My first meeting on Fridays is a coffee meeting to catch up with my team. Most important meeting of the week! D often likes to join us, but he's in full teenager mode and didn't wake up until it was already over today.
(8/17) We were promised thunder and lightning this evening and it sure didn't disappoint! It went from clear blue sky to suddenly dark and windy in the span of minutes. Poor Noodle was shaking, but the rest of us loved it.
(8/18) We woke up to more rain and the puppy-girls were very unimpressed. It took some extra coaxing for the princesses to go out and actually do their business. It's going to be so much fun when the rains return for good. I took our foster pup, Juliette, out to meet a potential adopter this afternoon and it was love at first lick. She's going to have her very own person to love who is home most of the time. Lucky girl!
(8/19) I worked from home today and Dad had the day off. He bought guacamole fixins and the boys made up a fancy lunch tray, which was quickly devoured. Dad and I met a friend for dinner at Chops this evening. We shared a burrito and tried their bulgogi fries which are kind of like poutine. So good! We capped off the night with a little "chaos time" which is when we turn on the bubble machine for the puppers outside and there is much chaos.
(8/20) I worked in the building and Dad had the day off. Dad and C played with cars today and took one into the dealership to get the a/c looked at and C went and did an oil change on S's vehicle. Dad and I watched a couple of our shows when I got home and then I watched the convention highlights.
(8/21) I was off today and thankfully didn't have a lot on my plate. We were down a car so C chauffeured us on our WinCo run and then dropped me at the dealership once the car was ready to be picked up. So nice to have a teen with wheels!
(8/22) I worked from home today and turned on the DNC this afternoon. What a production! I kept texting my coworkers to geek out. What a fun day ~ I'm really starting to feel hopeful!
(8/23) We woke up to rain and cooler weather today. It's feeling fallish out there and I'm ready for it! Both Dad and I had to work today; him in Seattle and me at home.
(8/24) I slept in this morning and then drove up to Nanan's to help her with some paperwork. As ever, we found a few more things that needed doing and I fixed her TV, changed the wiper blades on her car, and did a grocery run. I promised the boys a trip to Jersey Mike's when I got home. They were pretty excited to go and kept texting asking how much longer I was going to be.
(8/25) It was sunny out this morning so I took my coffee out into the yard to do a little tidying. D went in to get fresh hair for the start of school coming up in just over a week. J still doesn't want to think about school and has curly hair so can pull off a little longer between trims. I had book club with the ladies this afternoon. We read a very different book (Shark Heart) this month and enjoyed discussing it and adding new reads as well.
(8/26) Sarah and I met for a walk before I came home to work. Dad had the day off and did exciting adult things like grocery shopping.
(8/27) I worked in the building today. Dad had the day off and went up with C to work on his truck. The starter is likely dead now. So who knows when it'll be up and running.
(8/28) I had the day off today and slept in this morning. We WinCo'd and I made a new chow mein recipe for lunch. C and I really liked it! It was a beautiful day and I took my audiobook out for a walk and did some yardwork.
(8/29) Today was a work day for Dad and me; him onsite and me from home. He put dinner in the crock pot before he left so it taunted us all day. It was delicious when it was finally ready though!
(8/30) I worked from home today, but only until noon since we were cut loose early for the holiday weekend. I threw dinner in the crock pot and then ran a bunch of errands. Fun, fun!
(8/31) The boys and I went in for our updated boosters. I bribed them with sushi and Chinese food. After I dropped them off, I went to my favorite place and hung out for a while. I even managed to not bring everything home!
