(9/1) J was still running a temp this morning so we took it easy today. He thankfully started feeling better this afternoon and was able to enjoy most the day. He always has a rough go after vaccines.
(9/2) Happy Labor Day! Dad and I were off today and we took the kiddos for lunch at El Paraiso. C was off visiting a friend and missed out this time.
(9/3) I worked in the building and Dad and the kiddos were off. They are not excited about the return of school tomorrow and there were lots of moans and groans about an earlier bedtime.
(9/4) The men headed back to school today. C is a senior this year and the twins are in 7th grade. Dad and I had the day off together and took the Mustang out for a drive to meet a friend for lunch at Spuds.
(9/5) For their birthdays this year, the twins are getting teenager rooms. We got started cleaning after school today and did some rearranging. D went through all his old toys and we removed just about everything he has outgrown. We also put up a set of orange and purple lights to replace the red ones he's had up for a few years. He's pretty proud of how everything is looking! (Excuse the mess ~ we're still moving things around.)
(9/6) We all had work and school today. I worked from home and did about twenty loads of laundry that was the result of yesterday's efforts. We finished moving the furniture in the boys' rooms and even got them vacuumed!
(9/7) D woke up not feeling so great. He wasn't running a temp but disappeared to sleep for a few hours this afternoon. I'm glad it's the weekend and we don't have anything on our calendar.
(9/8) D was still feeling a little under the weather today but was excited to pitch chicken tortellini soup for dinner. Excellent suggestion! I made a huge pot and loaded it up with onions and garlic. D was thankfully feeling much better this evening and even went back for seconds!
(9/9) I'm back to working in the building two days a week. I was all by my lonesome today, but hey, I did get a lot of work done in the quiet.
(9/10) I worked in the building again today, the boys had school, and Dad had the day off. We invited S over for dinner tonight to celebrate her birthday. I totally spaced on getting any pics, but it was fun to see the kids!
(9/11) The boys had school and Dad and I had the day off. Dad and I bummed around for the morning and then he went out thrifting. The boys and I did the WinCo run this afternoon and picked up the requisite snacks.
(9/12) I worked a half day from home and then drove up to pick up Nanan and set up a new remote for her. She had a sleep study this evening so had dinner with us and visited with the boys until I dropped her off for her test.
(9/13) I took the day off today and picked up Nanan at the clinic and we went for breakfast at the Totem Diner. Fully stuffed, I took her home and then went home myself for a proper food coma. J had an orthodontist appointment this afternoon and he went with Halloween colored bands. Fun!
(9/14) We woke up to rain this morning and the princess dogs were not impressed. Toffee kept looking back at me deeply offended that her pathway was wet. How dare! After lots of coaxing we hunkered down inside for the day and did a whole lot of nothing.
(9/15) I slept in a little this morning, which was lovely. I got up and made breakfast for the boys and then got engrossed in a book. I had book club this afternoon and enjoyed discussing the book and adding more to my TBR list.
(9/16) I worked in the building today and Dad had the day off. We got the a/c in our car fixed finally--just in time for fall! It's been out for a few months. I'm surprised Dad didn't melt!
(9/17) I worked in the building, the kiddos had school, and Dad had the day off. Dad set up a new Roku and now River's stories are running much more smoothly. She watches Pet Collective and gets mad when the "we'll be right back" message appears or the service hangs.
(9/18) Dad and I had the day off and the kiddos had school today. I finished moving all the furniture out of D's room while Dad built his new stuff. J requested we bring back Chinese food Wednesdays for today's WinCo haul. It's been a while!
(9/19) I was supposed to go visit the folks today but they're down with the crud and we had to cancel. I kept the day off though and wandered out to Lowe's to see what sad plants needed to come home with me. I scored a couple of deals and got everything planted before the kiddos got home from school.
(9/20) We all had work and school today. The rescue we work with coordinated to have a new foster boy dropped off with us. This poor baby's feet!ðŸ˜We will be a soft place for him to hang for a while. I made up another big pot of soup tonight. Poor J is all snarfy and I'm glad we've finally made it to the weekend so he can rest!
(9/21) It was beautiful out today! There's a house near us that puts on an amazing light show for the holidays and I noticed that they're getting their decorations out. I told the twins and D is ready to put all our stuff out *right now*! We'll see if we make it to October.
(9/22) The twins and I had a lazy day and Dad and C had to work this afternoon. I was pretty useless today and did nothing of import. Back to the grind tomorrow!
(9/23) I was up and at 'em early this morning and met Sarah for a walk before I went in to the office to work for the day. The kiddos had school and Dad had the day off.
(9/24) I worked in the building again today, the boys had school, and Dad had the day off. Casserole went in for his yearly appointment and was pronounced a good boi!
(9/25) Dad and I had the day off and the kiddos had school today. It's the time of year for all the medical appointments. I had a dentist appointment and J went to see the ophthalmologist. He'll be sporting some new specs soon! D and I went to WinCo and almost came home with carving pumpkins, but he settled on some mini ones and pomegranates. He's really ready to pull out our decorations, especially with it getting dark early.
(9/26) I met Sarah to walk before coming home to work. S started a new job today and stopped by briefly this afternoon. The new place sounds like a great fit and she's really excited! We're thrilled for her!
(9/27) I worked from home, Dad worked at work, and the boys had school today. D came in and told me he really wanted to decorate for Halloween tonight after I got done working. He got absorbed in his game though and was disappointed that we hadn't decorated when bedtime rolled around. I promised we could do it tomorrow!
(9/28) Usually by the time I decorate in the fall, I'm down to just a few railing planters. I still have five going with flowers blooming! But I can't hold D back anymore. He asked me why we have a snowman in our Halloween decorations. Ha! D decorated the door while I put up the lights. I ran out of thumbtacks part way through so we paused briefly to run to WinCo for lunch and more tacks. After I finished the porch, I mowed the lawn for the rest of the decorations, which we should probably save until October at least!
(9/29) My normally calm Sunday was anything but today. I had to run in a urine sample for our foster boy and he flipped his first sample and sent the pee flying. Then apparently somebody was jealous of me following him around with a tupperware and chose to poop in the hall to express their displeasure. Seriously, dogs! After getting a fresh sample with no more ensuing drama, I headed out to the vet's. Thankfully the fumes I had in the tank were enough to get me there and back to fill up despite the detours and crazy drivers out this morning. By the time I got home, Sunday had thankfully decided to simmer down.
(9/30) I worked a half day from home and then ran up to take Nanan to an appointment. We stopped for lunch and visited for a while before I took her back home.
